CMP Matches:  June 29, 2008

Well I finally got all the score sheets edited and put in the envelope to go to CMP. It was a great day again.  This time was a little cooler than the 22nd but the rain held off and there was some good shooting done.  We had 29 shooters and eleven medals were earned.

The M1 shooters are still trying to measure up to Christine Manhart who shot a 281 5X today.  Come'on guys its the offhand scores that eat you up.  Jerry Scherrer was the only one that stayed with Christine.  They each shot 91 with 2Xs.  There were three perfect prone scores of 100 in M1 and one in AR. The rapid fire high went to Jim Miller with a 96.  Ed note:  Jerry Scherrer also had a 100 6X in AR rapid fire.

Mark Ehlert says we have 5 shooters good enough to put together as a team to represent the club . We will pursue this to see if the interest is there.

Thanks to everyone that showed up early and put the targets up and got things ready for the match. A special thanks to John Colombo for showing up early to help me get the club house ready for the presentation. For those of you not there I have included some pictures the Roethelis and Flanagan were nice enough to share with the group.

Remember that we still have raffle tickets to sell and that our next match and presentation is the 20th of July. See you all there.

Silhouette Matches:  May 10, 2008

Well the rain finally stopped for a few hours and gave us some decent weather to shoot in as we held our second match of the season.  Thanks to everyone who tramped around in the mud all day to help reset targets and then put everything away afterwards.  Some pretty good shooting today and great to see so many Junior Shooters out there.  Always great to see family members out there shooting side by side.

Hats off to Ron Bain who not only shot the HIGH SCORE today but also set a new range record with 33 hits all offhand.  Great job Ron and glad to see all that practice pay off.  Terry Flanagan also had a great day and shot his personal high score and the TOP Half N Half score of the day with a score of 34.  Those of you who practice on a weekly basis are at the top of the chart routinely and it is because you earn it with your dedication and trigger time.  The bar keeps getting raised for all of us.  We see the same thing happening at the CMP matches also.
